My name is Yevhenii Symonenko
I was born on June 16, 1997 in Mogyliv-Podilskyi, Vinnytsia Region, Ukraine. Since childhood, he loved to draw and was surrounded by various kinds of creativity. However, I never realized myself as a painter due to a number of circumstances that developed and did not develop.
But I have also been fascinated by photography since childhood. At home I had a large archive of photographs left by my grandfather. I always liked this opportunity to stop time. And I often wanted to stop him in order to continue this or that moment.
Therefore, one day I decided to buy my own camera and try my hand at photography more seriously. From that day, my journey as a photographer began.
I've probably tried almost everything along the way. I shot landscapes, insects, plants, animals, friends, relatives. Filmed street, content for institutions, weddings. I took and still take portraits. This direction is one of the most exciting for me. I shoot reports. I capture what fascinates me. Recently, I have been shooting landscapes again, because nature gives me the peace that is so lacking.
I am constantly looking for new shooting methods. At the moment, I am fascinated by the idea of infrared photography, so I disassemble and remove the hot mirror from every digital point and shoot that comes into my hands.
I love analog photography because of its flexibility and unpredictability.
I run the YouTube channel "Film Diary", where there are already quite a lot of reviews of various films, film cameras, tips on shooting, and I also share my experience there.
First of all, photography for me is a way of communication, socialization and understanding of the surrounding world and, most importantly, the people around me and myself.
Therefore, I try to create my works sensitively and with maximum attention to who is in the frame. Also, my works are about a person, his inner world and its external reflection.
I am interested in both individuals and society in general.
